Meet The Quintuplets!

Sora Lealtad Valdez

Sora is the eldest of the Valdez quintuplets. She tends to take after the typical oldest child. She feels responsible for her sisters and is always watching out for them. She is the first to criticize them, and least likely to give a hug. But she loves her sisters dearly and they know this, despite her lack of sensitivity.

Sora's favorite pastime is cooking and baking. The scientist in her enjoys the measuring and experimenting, but of course she also enjoys tasting her creations. And creations they are, for she likes to play around with ingredients and concoct things. She often doesn't follow a recipe. The results are generally surprising, in one way or another. It's a family joke that one day Sora will blow up the kitchen, or poison everyone by accident. Sora takes the teasing in stride. She doesn't allow her feelings to be easily hurt.

All the quintuplets have a signature/ favorite color, and Sora's is yellow. Her favorite food is Gvetch which is a Romanian vegetable soup.

Violet Caridad Valdez

Sweet Violet is the little mother of the quintuplets. She's the second oldest, and the most sensitive. She is favored by all her quintmates, because she is so good, gentle and kind to them. She is always the first to praise someone, or to try and cheer them up. No one can remember her ever saying a harsh word or raising her voice. She is certainly the easiest to please.

Quiet, patient little Violet is great at needlework. She learned to crochet a few years ago, and is beginning to learn how to knit, as well. She's Jillian's little helper in sewing, and has even sewn a few simple things herself. She's also fond of embroidery, an artform she only recently began to learn. Violet loves her dolls the most of the quintuplets. She's always taking care of them: bathing them, entertaining them, teaching them, feeding them. She even sometimes includes her sisters' dolls, so they aren't neglected.

Violet's favorite color is purple. Her favorite food is a Romanian dessert called Savarina.

Lorikeet Amistad Valdez

Like many middle children, Lorikeet tends to be a bit rebellious and mischievous. She's the least likely to do what Sora wants her to do, and the most likely to get in trouble. It isn't that she doesn't want to be good. It's just that she loves to have fun. She can't help it if having fun sometimes results in being in trouble.

Some would call Lorikeet the "Artistic One", when trying to distinguish her from her identical sisters. This isn't fair to the others, as they have artistic talents too, but it is quite accurate for Lorikeet. She's the most skilled artistically, and by that I mean drawing, painting, sculpting and that sort of thing. There are, of course, other types of art and those aren't particular strengths or interests to Lorikeet.

Lorikeet dislikes doing things "by the book", so she often chooses to paint on the walls or "decorate" the driveway (by throwing paint filled water balloons on it) or her sisters. Perhaps now you can see how she ends up grounded the most.

Lorikeet's favorite food is a Spanish breakfast dish called Tortilla de Patatas. Her favorite color is green.

Lyre Chickadee Inocencia Valdez

Nothing much ever bothers Lyre Chickadee. She's easy- going and laid back. Some might even call her "lazy", but she'd disagree. She does do necessary things such as chores and homework. She doesn't try to get out of doing them by getting someone else to do things for her. It's just that she likes to take her time, and not rush things. This might not be so bad, if she did a very good job. But she doesn't pay attention too well. She's generally lost in a daydream, or playing music in her head, and forgets about what she's doing or should be doing.

Music is Lyre Chickadee's great love. She particularly likes classical or instrumental music. She'd love to learn to play an instrument, actually, she'd like to learn to play several. But she can't quite talk Jillian into letting her learn guitar, her first choice. Jillian's reluctant to sign her up for any music lessons, just because Lyre Chickadee tends to lose interest in things after a while.

Lyre Chickadee's favorite color is orange. Her favorite food is a Romanian hamburger dish called Mittitei.

Zipporah Esperanza Valdez

Zipporah is the most exuberant of the quintuplets. She's also the littlest and the youngest. But she makes up for those in her over the top actions. She's rather dramatic. If something surprises her, she'll sometimes pretend to faint. When she's angry, she loves to slam the door. She loves to be the center of attention - except if she's done something wrong. She likes to go along with Lorikeet and Lyre Chickadee in their fun, but of the three, is the most bothered by being in trouble. Just frowning at her is likely to make her burst into tears. Ignoring her completely is the worst thing one could do. When she's in a good mood, she skips around and laughs easily. It's like she's a rollercoaster of emotions, they come and go so quickly and yet are so intense.

Zipporah's passion is writing. She thoroughly enjoys everything about writing (except writer's block!). She collects notebooks and pens, because they are tools of the trade - though she prefers to type her stories on the computer. She is always reading something, and often it is a book on how to write. It is so normal for her to be off in her own little world during the day, imagining new stories, that her family generally expects this of her. They know to make sure they really have her attention before saying anything important to her. Or better yet - they'll write a story about it!

Paella made with only chicken is Zipporah's favorite food. Her favorite color is blue.
